You could, but it doesn't sound easy.  My reasoning was that I would block BBDB 
from overwriting good addresses in the database with bad/mangled ones.  In the 
rare case that I want to send a message to some one that has a mangled address 
in the database, I would probably notice it when I do completion on the "To" 
header.
