We are looking for an appliance to manage our ActiveSync devices. We have meet
with Zenprise, and looked at their solutions. We just had a webinar with McAfee
who apparently has a MDM solution as well. Not to different from the Zenprise
solution. For android devices we have tested with the divide application to
separate business data from personal data. Still looking to test the Fusion
solution not from what I hear I might not like the licensing.

What does everyone use for MDM? I have Good Messaging from our Treo days that I
was able to get reactivated for a minimal cost that we are testing with iPads
and we don't care for it, although it seemed to behave better on an Android
tablet. I've attended one of the Mobile Iron weekly webinars and liked the
management interface, and I've attended a webinar for MaaS360 by Fiberlink but
don't recall much of it...
Who else is out there for MDM? We are looking to do away with our corporate
owned Blackberry's and take on a BYOD policy for email but want to limit use of
ActiveSync...

I hate Touchdown. IMO, that's not an integrated application for the Android...
Its a seperate application that handles mail, contacts etc...

We did, but not everyone is a fan of Touchdown, which is what they use for
Android.

Has anyone looked into Mobile Iron for an MDM? We are going to be signing up
with them here within the next month. They have Weekly webinars on Wednesday -
and their product looks amazing and well built.

+1 for Microsoft Licensing being confusing. Even most of their employees don't
understand it.

We have a hosted MDM solution now. I was intrigued by Mobile Fusion until I
did the numbers. With Mobile Fusion, cost includes BES + CALs + Server
associated costs, hardware, configuration and maintenance + Support contract
which is priced somewhat on the number of devices being managed. Some of these
costs are long term, like BES, one time, like CALs, and others continuing, like
the support contract.

With the hosted MDM, we pay per device. per month. No up front BES, no CALs,
no server hardware, no maintenance, and support is included. Mobile Fusion may
work for you, but when you factor in all of the costs, maybe not.

Confusing? Try licensing any Microsoft product at an enterprise level!

In all seriousness, you're not being strong-armed into a Fusion CAL for
BlackBerry OS 10 devices as they will support ActiveSync out of the box much
like Playbook OS 2.0. Fusion will provide a better way of dealing with mobile
devices than unregulated ActiveSync connections.
