zlib1.dll in the gtk/bin dir seems to have been regressed at some point.

At one point in the beta process, the version of zlib1.dll in \j64-701\gt
k\bin was:

4C6BBA33 time date stamp Wed Aug 18 06:47:15 2010

and the dll included

20 13 000035B0 deflateSetHeader

The current version seems to be:

4AAAABC9 time date stamp Fri Sep 11 15:58:01 2009

and the dll does not include deflateSetHeader

This is a bit of a problem when I try to run windows glade using the J7 GTK
install.

Should I continue to try to use the J GTK install for glade or install glade

with its own GTK?

Please ignore my comment on glade. I have way too many zlib1.dll's and need
to
sort out how they are being used. I suspect once I do that, the problem
with
glade will disappear.

I can't test this in mac FF right now. Mac Safari behaves as expected (as
you describe). I don't think jhs itself would affect this behavior so
wonder if it isn't something in mac FF that is not specific to hs.

Eric and Brian,

On an intel Mac I also get the described results on Safari (and additionally
ctrl + arrow moves to the beginning and end of a line), but on Firefox the
command + arrow forward and back takes me through the page history sequence
and ctrl + arrow forward and back does nothing. Option + arrow forward and
back move a word at a time along the line for both browsers. I am not able
to test on a powerpc mac.

I have now switched to an Intel Mac and Firefox. The only problem here
is Command+left arrow which seems to behave like a cursor click on a
back arrow. On this Intel computer Safari seems to work as desired.

Sorry, I have to run.

Using the GTK front end with XP win64 when opening a file for the first the
system crashes.

However if from the "term" I use say: open' numeric' which opens OK.
Then by keeping the

edit widow open I can open other files and things seem to work OK.

I am also not able to open project files from the term window at the start
before having opened the edit window.

Using the GTK front end with XP win32 I do not experience the same problems.

Any help welcome.

Regards

Bill Szuch

Did you update gui/gtk, ide/gtk to the latest version. What is the version
of them on your computer. What is the byte size of the file
libgtk-win32-2.0-0.dll
in gtk binary? A workaround may be moving you j701 installation folder to
the root of drive such as c:\j701 or d:\j701

I guess glade only offers 32-bit version, so that its gtk binary will also
be 32-bit. Anyway each application should use its bundled gtk binary in
windows, in that if you have 3 gtk applications, it should end up with
3 gtk binaries.
