Industry's Growth and Development
BayBio2006
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 15, 2006--As many
as 400 life science professionals will gather at BayBio2006,
Northern California's annual life sciences conference, to discuss
the future of the industry that started in the Bay Area more than 30
years ago. This year's conference will focus on the Bay Area's role
as the global biotech leader, while addressing the specific
challenges and opportunities faced first by companies in this
region.

"Northern California has been the wellspring for the biotechnology
industry ever since the world-recognized pioneers, Genentech and
Cetus, were founded and launched an impressive, methodical mission
of achievements," said Frederick Frank, Vice Chairman and Director
of Lehman Brothers Inc. He added, "BayBio's Annual Meeting has
become a decisive meeting place for the local life sciences
leadership, as it lays out the future of the industry's aspirations,
technologies, clinical programs and business strategies." Fredrick
Frank will deliver the luncheon key note speech at BayBio2006.

"Our industry is at a juncture that will define the future of care
for patients -- and indeed, the very concept of healthcare itself --
for generations to come. At BayBio2006, leaders come together to
reflect on how the life sciences industry will deliver the
treatments of tomorrow, while growing the successful enterprises of
today," said Matt Gardner, BayBio's President.

BayBio2006 will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2006, from 7:30 am to
6:30 pm at the San Mateo Marriott Hotel in San Mateo, Calif.
