Steve, This may seem odd, but in our database, "disposition" is the field we use to say what happened to the sheep. Entries would be "sold to xxx" or "deceased", etc. Temperament is, of course, something very different.
I have one really wild ewe, and she is VSU. My other VSU sheep are also a little wilder than the others. I think AB sheep are wilder than BB sheep, but I will leave the particulars to others. Temple Grandin says that temperament in cattle can be gauged by the location of forehead whorls. I don't know whether our sheep actually have forehead whorls. My take on disposition is that if I think they are dangerous (this applies mainly to rams), they go in the freezer. I am interested in what others think. First of all, in your eyes are these the same thing; temperament vs disposition? What is important to watch out for and why? Has anyone culled for bad temperament/disposition or kept despite bad temperament/disposition and did that cause problems later on? Is temperament/disposition hereditary? Is there a difference in AB vs BB on this subject or are they similar?
