I wonder if there might be any interest in an open book list, just curious.
It's not like I need the work.

I tried thinking once but decided it was a bad idea.

I was gonna say the same thing, but like most blind folk my self encluded
can't afford to upgrade. Heck we can't get Kurzweil V 11. We still have V 8.

It was mentioned that Open Book 6 was in use on both scanners. I have Open
Book 8 on mine and it works nicely. Could that upgrade help the situation?

If both scanners work "correctly" on your PC and both scanners work
"incorrectly" on your husband's PC then the problem is not with the
scanners.

The problem lies somewhere between the scanner and the videeo display on
your husband's PC.

I suggest comparing the optional settings in the scanner-related software
between those on your PC and those on your husband's PC. If no
differences
exist there, compare the drivers for the scanner between both PC's. If no
differences exist there, compare the video drivers between both PC's. If
no
differences exist there, the problem is probably hardware related with
your
husband's PC.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Scanner question

My husband and I both have the same make and model of scanner. We both
have
the same scanning and reading programs on our computers--Text cloner and
OpenBook 6.

My scanner works perfectly while his only shows half of a page vertically.
I have switched scanners thinking maybe his was defective, but the same
problem occurs on his computer.

Any ideas why this would happen and then how do I fix it?

Arianna
