It's not PVC any longer, it's some other kind of plastic not subject to the
problems of PVC and not welding as with copper. The new plastic piping is
suppose to be stronger and last longer as well as cheaper. The plumbing
contractor told me they offer the copper because to many people won't trust
this plastic piping after all the problems with PVC. Here in Nevada it gets
really hot and here where I live it gets 5 degrees to 7 degrees hotter then
what they report at the airport and their temperatures and the afternoon sun
beats down on this plastic faucet and it hasn't bothered it at all. If that
were brass, you couldn't touch it around 3 P.M. This plastic thing is warm
but not hot.
