As I hadn't gotten any response from Erich Boleyn, I decided to check in another patch by Hidetoshi Nishimaki to the CVS. His patch is for the Gate A20 / USB keyboard problem. I believe his patch has no (ill) side effect, but I'm not sure if it could solve the problem in any kind of machine. So, if you have difficulty in using your USB keyboard with GRUB, test the CVS version and send a report, please.
I know it doesn't solve systems which have no keyboard controller port. This is a somewhat different problem, and I'll fix this, once the USB keyboard problem disappears.
