Summary: grub-install reports "error: unknown filesystem." A computer installed with Windows 11 Pro before, UEFI boot 2. Booting from Debian 12 and running installation 3. When getting to grub-installation the error occured Error source: For me it looks like it tries to look into the other "registered" items in the EFI BOOT and looks into the boot/configured devices for those somehow. As it is not able to find the proper devices/partitions with the defined filesystems, it errors as described. Solution (for me): Delete the Windows files from EFI directory. Afterwards everything runs smoothly. Fix Suggestion (could also be done differently for sure): If probing for other OSs and issues found, don't stop execution and if possible name a proper error. Hope this helps. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?64821> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
