I have lilypond 2.25.11 on my MacBook Pro M1 Sonoma 14.2.1 running without 
problems - installed via MacPorts (lilypond-devel).
I do not remember if I had installed the fonts mentioned by Jean and Werner 
separately, though.

BTW: The x86 64 version also runs smoothly. The only difference I notice: The 
MacPorts version is nearly twice as fast.
