The error message appears to come from the assembler shipped with Solaris. gcc Assembler output was not always in agreement with the local assembler. “aline 310” refers simply to line 310 of the Assembler text generated by gcc. My recommendation would be to use the GNU assembler instead. -- Dr. Andreas F.
