Regarding help on Linux commands,

Why do Linux people refuse to provide simple examples in their man and
help pages? I've been using Linux for a year and a half, and do not regard
myself as completely stupid, but every time I consult Linux help or man
files for some quick assistance on commands I find myself confronted with
minimal and confusing information. This, more often that not, wastes a
great deal of my time, most of which would be saved if Linux manual
writers provided simple examples for us simple people who are generally
just attempting simple things. I think I speak on behalf of many Linux
users, at least all the people I know.

Respectfully,

Kilian.
