I assume it is related to Bug #40470 where the response code 'seen' by apache is 1, even thought the http response header is 200. There are a few other reports of this in the net I found when googling. An additional indication of this problem is that the actual number of bytes returned is greater than the number in the Content-Length header. For example, one of my pages has a content length of 27535 Bytes, but HttpWatch shows the size as 27805 Bytes. I am having sever problems with compressed pages reloading repeatedly and I suspect that the error message is added to the returned data after compression, confusing MSIE6.1.
