mod_ftp currently doesn't support commands like SITE SEARCH and SITE CHMOD (and
its other brothers).
I find SITE CHMOD to be very handy aswel as other commands like SITE SEARCH.
Unfortunately I couldn't find any RFC for these and from my short exploration
there doesn't seem to be a clear standard :(
although the FTPServer project does support some other SITE commands:

but I would like to request this as an enhancement for later releases.
