"Earlier this week we released OpenEMR v. 2.5 which now contains
prescribing of medications."
.../...
"We are now in the process of finalizing billing using FreeB and anticipate having those features implemented and tested by the end of April 2004."
Those would be nice for Care2x too.
"For those clinics or billing companies that need assistance with installing and supporting OpenEMR, we offer several support packages to install and customize OpenEMR for the clinic, and also provide training, including on-site installation and training."
This seems to be a reliable way to go commercial with Care2x: installation, customization, support, training and, eventually, migration of all other hospital's OS and software to open sourced alternatives.
Solve the hospital IT problems and the administration boards will not mind if you get rich in the process... That's what they have been doing during all this years with all those larger software integrator houses.
Freedom from the need to keep a tight management of all those software licenses will be an welcome bonus too.
