About an hour ago I parked at Freese Rd Community Gardens and walked along the Monkey Run rim trail until it comes out on the back of some of the Hanshaw Rd fields to the east of Freese Rd (at most 1/4 mile). Not far from the treeline were around 30 well-camouflaged and very active AMERICAN PIPITS foraging amid recently sown cover crop.
