After estimating 450 Tundra Swans and 8 Trumpeters at Armitage we went to East Road at 4:20. Two very large flocks of Sandhills all got up from the corn fields to the west at the same time and all flew in to Knox-Marcellus. As far as I know the minimum of 490 that I counted on 12/8 is the highest ever counted there. These 2 flocks appeared to be even more but were right overhead and impossible to put a number on. It was a phenomenal experience. If anyone is bored and wants to work on numbers and catch them staging in a field before flying to roost I bet it’s now closer to 600. Enjoy them before they leave!
