The view storage was not deleted in this case. I can still access it for all views having the problem.

This is most likely caused when a View storage is deleted, but it's server process did not exit.

Subject: [cciug] ClearCase View Error

Hi all,

Has anyone seen this error when trying to run "cleartool endview -server <view_tag>"?

cleartool: Error: Unable to find view '<view storage path>' from albd: error detected by ClearCase subsystem
cleartool: Error: See albd error log on host <hostname>

The albd error log contains the following entries:

- Server view_server (pid=20790) (client=146.152.24.103:34736) on "<view storage path>" never went busy (may be
looping); marking it as "down".

- Server view_server(32658) exited due to signal 6

Just before seeing this, I noticed multiple views were getting errors stating that the .pid file couldn't be written due to the view storage disk quota being exceeded (We're using a shared NAS filesystem for viewstores). I'm hoping it's just a rogue view_server process, but I want to make sure before having IT reboot the server in case there might be view corruption that needs fixing. IT had already increased the disk quota before running the endview command, but that doesn't seem to have helped.

Thanks in advance,
Brian
