Dear all,

Apologies for re-posting. I would like to amend here the link to the
application for the following Ph.D. position:

We are recruiting a PhD student to investigate regulatory aspects of protein
mega-complexes involved in the Integrated Stress Response (ISR), a signalling
pathway involved in antiviral responses and cancer development. This is a joint
project between the University of Oxford-Centre for Medicines Discovery (CMD)
and AstraZeneca-Cambridge. The project offers excellent opportunities to learn
biochemical, biophysical and structural biology methods such as X-ray
crystallography and single-particle Cryo-EM focusing on drug discovery.

The student will be hosted at CMD’s Protein Crystallography group and
supervised by Professor Dr. Frank von Delft and Dr. Gustavo Bezerra. As part of
this BBSRC-funded PhD studentship, the candidate is expected to spend at least
three months at the research facilities of AstraZeneca in Cambridge.

The Centre for Medicines Discovery is a multi-disciplinary Institute within the
University of Oxford’s Nuffield Department of Medicine which focuses upon
translational activities to catalyse the discovery and development of new
medicines for patients (www.cmd.ox.ac.uk<http://www.cmd.ox.ac.uk>)

NDM is one of the largest and most highly regarded departments of medicine in
Europe and noted for the wide range and excellence of its basic and clinical
research (rated 5* in research assessment exercises). The department is just as
renowned for its work in basic sciences as more clinical or applied work with
much of the £130 million per annum grant income being spent on understanding
the most basic principles of biomedicine and disease pathogenesis.

Best regards,
Gustavo
