After reading this news: EFF Raises Concerns About the New AOL Instant Messenger https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2011/12/effs-raises-concerns-about-new-aol-instant-messenger-0 I think it would be a nice (hacker) feature to have a userbased filter/ blacklist for the contact clients. I know with jabber/xmmp you can see which client is used by your contact. When I do not want that the client of my talking partner logs our chat at the aol server this privacy function can inform me about his client or can mark him in a sepcial colour or move in a special group or do not show him solong he use this client...
