That's right. You have Flash call a CFC method to get back aggregate data (as a Value Object) which you then unpack and use locally.

It depends. In complex applications, the business logic model is usually more complex than the artifacts that you expose through the UI. Only those artifacts need to be communicated to the UI. In that case, it's definitely worth creating and maintaining objects on the server side.
