If you want a "perfect object oriented" shopping cart... you might 
consider Java. (seriously) I love CF, and also love CFC objects. But any 
good craftsman needs to look at his tools when doing work, not just how 
he likes to use tools. Screw drivers don't make good pry bars or 
chisels. Now, let me state that it is very rare that CF cannot get the 
job done with the current tool set. Yet, to focus on object orientation 
with CF is the wrong tool set. PHP, ASP, ASP.NET, CF, Pearl... languages 
abound... all with growing collections of tools. It could be said that a 
programming language is like a toolbox. Each tool set has unique 
abilities and in many instances can situationally show itself more 
useful than other tool sets.

So... in summary... thought not all agree on this, you need to take a 
double look at this goal. The strengths of pure object oriented 
programming are good, but doing this just using CFCs may be a challenge. 
Most of these issues are handled by Machii, and there are guys on this 
list who have much experience with that solution. Machii deals with 
working with CF in such a way that the non-pure objects of CF are issues 
that are minimized.
