This maybe because you are doing a lot of get/set'ers in it, as well as interacting with your database tier. You might want to consider dropping all that into a seperate Manager CFC, that takes a contactBean and persists it. I also notice your service doesn't enforce any security constraint, which may well be fine as it's not marked 'remote'.
