There is a nice story in today's Tribune about the collaboration between Polish and Hispanic constituents of Ald. Reboyras' 30th ward, "Poles warm up to Latino alderman":
http://reboyras.notlong.com Unfortunately, all we really learn is that Reboyras' tight connection to Daley and the power of the Hispanic Democratic Organization (HDO) is getting things done through influence. The story states: "Many residents--both Hispanic and Polish--continue to be wary of the HDO's stranglehold on city jobs" - if this is indeed the case, is this type of patronage in violation of the Shackman Decree? Does anyone have more info about how the HDO works? jon. kelland pilsen/25th ward __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Win a $20,000 Career Makeover at Yahoo!
