Hello all, My name is Jessica Thompson and I have been living in Woodlawn (directly south of Hyde Park) for almost a year now. I grew up in Elgin, IL and received my BS in psychology at a college in Naperville before moving to Chicago. I am currently working as a research assistant at the U of C, but plan to attend graduate school in a year or so. I found out about this list from the City Space conference at U of C last month. I am especially interested in homelessness, poverty, and low-income housing. Last year I did research on homeless children in DuPage County and the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. I want to learn more about how where people live affect their quality of life. I will probably be more of a listener than a contributer to this list, but I still wanted to introduce myself.
