sorry, you're quite right - I mis-read the question - read it as being the
VLAN itself.  you can only have one VLAN *INTERFACE* live at one time - I
know as I've made a remote switch unreachable bringing up the wrong VLAN
nterface before now :-(  Kept switching though, thankfully :-)
