To indulge a little deeper in periphera, I haven't seen this issue, but I assume the Embergher book reviewed is that by Leenen & Pratt. It is a fine work and lavishly illustrated with photos across the whole of the shop's production range and period catalogue excerpts: <http://www.mandolin.be/embergher/> I am of the opinion that the compound curve to the bowl's ribs of Roman-type mandolins as refined in the Embergher shop makes for one of the most elegant and artistic designs amongst all mandokin. They are particularly exciting with fluted ribs. Best, Eugene -- To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
