3.3+ is not recommended, its required. GNU classpath CVS should check this correctly. Please tell me if it doesnt.It doesn't. From the configuration log:

I will note that this is the version that was shipped with Red Hat Linux 9, so we can assume that it is in common use. Even if the version number 3.2.2.200030222 does look a bit weird to my eyes.
