Hi Craig, I can't reproduce the problem you're seeing. Right now, when I visit http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/org/clojure/clojure/maven-metadata.xml I get the the same list as "Article A" in your original post.
Is it possible that the maven-metadata-central.xml file in your local Maven cache is corrupted?
