I wouldn't think of this as being "some java thing"... ;-) Whisker's turning out to be really helpful as a simple command line tool for generating our legal docs from a more structured source (tools/whisker/descriptor.xml)
For CloudStack, we have so many integration points and external libraries, it was much nicer to have a structured way to define everything.
