There were and there are problems with CMake and the Visual Studio Express Versions. See: http://www.cmake.org/pipermail/cmake/2010-May/036962.html (macros)
I use the 2010 Express Version, which works astonishingly good. There are still some minor problems (see http://www.cmake.org/pipermail/cmake/2010-June/037531.html), but for small projects it is ok. So I recommend, you switch to 2010er version and use the 2.8.2 version of CMake.
