Matt, Before you get to far, I have written a plugin for Findbugs... I am currently trying to get in touch with the folks running mavenplugins.sf.net to get it added there...
I think though people might be on vacation.. At any rate, the findbugs folks are discussing changing the license to asf compatible, whereupon we could put the plugin in the maven core. I am attaching my code, note though it is still pretty raw. Findbugs the next version will have a better classloader. For now now, you have to have all the jars in the lib dir in the plugin. I removed them for the email though.. If you make any improvements, send me a patch file until I can get this up on the maven plugins sourceforge site.
