check file size with Interent Explorer

Hi, 

 

I'm having a problem with Internet Explorer when doing a file upload. I
need to restrict the size of the upload. When using firefox, the servlet
being requested can check the file size before uploading it. But with
IE, it must wait to finish the file upload before checking its size. Has
anyone experienced the same problem?
