I follow the guide on the wiki to install it on the sd card : http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Qtopia_/_Qt_Extended_on_FreeRunner#Option_2:_Dual-Booting_between_Qtopia_and_2007.2_.28Qtopia_boots_from_MicroSD_card.29
It worked pretty well for me !
