We had an invasion of crows into our garden two years ago.  They would peck
the tomatoes, leaving them damaged.  We did some research and found some
"big eye" balloons used by NASA and they worked like a charm.  We had 250
tomato plants and got about 10 of the balloons.  We also tried hanging CDs
by a string and that also seemed to help but the balloons were the best.
