[EMAIL PROTECTED] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[EMAIL PROTECTED] Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW Ever Confirmed| |1 ------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-21-09 22:20 ------- interface team, what do you think of that feature? basically, we should just keep some sound-slot-XX <=> pci id in /etc/sysconfig/harddrake2/hw.map and add a disable flag. eg: "0x1111 0x1111: disabled 0x4568 0x4654: sound-slot-XX" we would have to load this in installer though in order to keep that setting. does not seems hard to handle. should we add this to next release todo list? -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: NEW creation_date: description: After the hardware install when we have a summary of the hardware and a chance to configure it, is it possible to include an option to disable a soundcard so that it is NOT used (no kernel modules loaded/etc.) For instance, I have a system with a fairly lousy onboard sound device that cannot be disabled in bios/hardware, I also have an add on card that I use (pci) It seems that invariably the onboard device is chosen as the default. I've looked for ways to disable it in the install process and have come up empty - the only solution I've found is to modify modules.conf after an install.
