------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-22-09 21:29 ------- This bug is related to bugs #71 and #2063. Information about how to install the documentation can be found in the KDevelop User Manual: http://www.kdevelop.org/doc/manual/index-14.html Note that 'kdevelop --setup' is different from the KDevelop Setup entry in the KDevelop option menu. The former does _not_ offer the option to generate the documentation from the kdelibs source (kdelibs-3.1.3a.tar.bz2 - there appears to be something wrong with kdelibs-3.1.3-35mdk.src.rpm), while the latter _does_. The 'kdevelop --setup' series of screens also does not make it possible to define the location of the KDElibs documentation. The option menu's setup does make it possible, but actually doesn't work (it seems) if that location is not equal to /home/<user>/.kde/share/apps/kdevelop/KDE-Documentation. See the KDevelop User Manual for how it was/is _intended_ to work, and these archived mail messages: http://linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/blfs-support/2003-March/038283.html and http://linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/blfs-support/2003-March/038315.html for some of the difficulties encountered and some hints about how to solve them. It seems to me that: 1) there should be a kdelibs-doc package containing the documentation generated from the sources, to be installed at some proper location (e.g. /usr/share/kdevelop/KDE-Documentation - whatever makes best sense). 2) the MDK kdevelop package should be fixed so that 'kdevelop --setup' will use the location of the kdelibs-doc installation, rather than the location under /home/<user>/.kde/ - and that the 'tests' mentioned in the archived linuxfromscratch mail messages does not ruin everything. 3) necessary dependencies should be defined in the kdevelop package, so that kdelibs-doc, libqt3-devel (containing the qt3 docs), htdig and kdoc (possibly others) will be installed. In short, if KDevelop is installed, the per-user setup procedure (kdevelop --setup) should work without problems - including the htdig indexing! -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: NEW creation_date: description: Currently there is no way to use, or create KDE Documentation for KDevelop since kdoc is missing (even not available as a separate package), and KDE lacks its library documentation. The best fix would be to include the KDE documentation. That helps a lot because the user (or admin) will not need to spend time creating the documentation files.
