------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-09 22:19 ------- I noticed this bug too, instead of selecting "configure" a second time, you can also press enter in the username field to be asked for root password. -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: Note: this is for 102-4mdk (not in list), but was present on previous versions in cooker leading up to 9.2. Try to configure GDM from the GDM login screen. Press F10 in the field, or click on "Actions". Next, choose "configure login manager" in the menu or dialog. GDM just beeps, when it should ask for the root password. If you immediately select the "configure" option a sescond time (via either method above), then the root password is requested. This is a very popular/common feature. If it had a problem in the upstream verison, I would expect bugs to appear on bugzilla.gnome.org. However, I have not seen any such bug. Therefore, I'm filing it here because I surmise it to potentially be a Mandrake problem. If you'd like, I would be happy to open a bug upstream. I just wanted to see if you could check locally first, to rule out it being some problem specific to Mdk.
