For good order`s sake I would like to remark that I`ve got exactly the same
situation in 9.1. If the cable from my ethernet card to the hub (which is
connected to an adsl modem) is not connected at boot time, booting takes
forever because drakboot cannot find the network. If at that point I
reconnect the cable, booting continues immediately. This means that if my
ethernet card dies I can`t boot normally...
