Same problem with ATI Radeon 64 DDR VIVO (=radeon 7200) AGP video card on a
GIGABYTE GA-7VAXP-A (VIA KT400A) motherboard
_since_i_have_changed_the_motherboard_ : hardware acceleration was OK with my
'old' ASUS A7V133. I have detected the problem for the first time in mdk 9.1 .

With mdk 9.2rc1 :
"insmod agpgart" returns :
Using /lib/modules/2.4.22-1mdk/kernel/drivers/char/agp/agpgart.o.gz
/lib/modules/2.4.22-1mdk/kernel/drivers/char/agp/agpgart.o.gz: init_module:
Invalid argument
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including
invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg

"dmesg" returns :
...
Linux agpgart interface v0.99 (c) Jeff Hartmann
agpgart: Maximum main memory to use for agp memory: 439M
agpgart: Detected Via Apollo Pro KT400 chipset
agpgart: unable to determine aperture size.
...
(message repeated many times).

Maybe a solution at http://nifelheim.dyndns.org/~cocidius/ ? (I don't understand
what he said : i'm a newbe...)

description:
I have an ATI Radeon 7500 video card. I have choosen to use xfree 4.3 with 3D
hardware acceleration, but it seems that there's no 3D acceleration. I have
noticed it when trying to play Tuxracer : it is very very slow.
I don't have this problem with MDK 9.0 ...
