Some days ago a friend in other mailing list made me notice that he gets:
"Assuming 33Mhz Ide sustem bus speed for pio modes" ad booting time.
With an append inserted in lilo.conf he made the system use a 66 mhz bus,
with an incredible increase of speed for a such trivial hack.
So i decided to make the same thing (I use a LM8). I had to insert an
append =" idebus=66 ide0=ata66" in my lilo.conf.
And I increased the performance, as I hoped.

The question is, why didn't LM installer recognize that? If it's an hard
thing to do, why don't the installer ask (maybe in the expert mode only)
the desired bus speed?
It's a great increase of performance for a few lines of code...
