seems to be a version of the file that came with the Ubuntu package. I
had to add a use statement for the SpamAssassin filter and create a log
file owned by the daemon user.

I had used cpan to install a complete complement of filters. Will that
implement the perlfilter you refer to?

That's a separate, standalone Perl module that I'm not familiar with, so let's wait for someone else who is, to comment.

I was referring to the bare-bones wrapper for Perl-based filters, that's included with Courier itself.
