Sorry, I overlooked you just use POP3 and IMAP.
But anyway, principle remains the same: you set MAILDIRPATH=.maildir
variable in imapd imapd-ssl pop3d pop3d-ssl files for regular users. You
store full path to maildir directory into special column in pg database
for virtual users.

Hi,
You configure DEFAULTDELIVERY=./.maildir in your courierd file for
real
users.
You have a column in the postgresql database and store a full path to
virtual user's maildir directory for every virtual user.
This is that I use in one site, and it is working. Just database is
mysql in my case. But auth modules for mysql and postgresql are
twins so
that should not matter.
