At one point I was building Courier regularly from source and the build configuration offered the choice of whether or not to build for a v6 stack. For some reason a v6 build caused a problem, which I don't remember now, but "::ffff" was dropped from IPs when I make a straight v4 build. This was problematic with some of the maildrop scripting I'd done, so I switched back. These days I'm using the Courier package distributed with Ubuntu Server, which is built with IPv6 capabilities, although it doesn't handle any inbound email with v6 addresses other than v4-mapped v6 addresses, as noted in your post. -- Lindsay Haisley | "UNIX is user-friendly, it just FMP Computer Services | chooses its friends." 512-259-1190 | -- Andreas Bogk http://www.fmp.com | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dive into the World of Parallel Programming The Go Parallel Website, sponsored by Intel and developed in partnership with Slashdot Media, is your hub for all things parallel software development, from weekly thought leadership blogs to news, videos, case studies, tutorials and more.
