Senate impeachment trial opens: political coup enters
climactic stage

The opening of the Senate impeachment trial will be
remembered in history as a critical milestone in the
political degeneration and breakdown of the institutions
of American democracy. Despite overwhelming popular
opposition, a political coup d'etat--organized by a
cabal of neo-fascist conspirators and the far-right
groups that control the Republican Party--is on the
verge of victory.

A. America is NOT a democracy.
B. If a majority of the people want to subvert justice today,
should we not enforce what a majority of the people 'wanted'
(or rather did NOT want) in the last two (2) presidential
elections -- a MAJORITY of the people voted AGAINST Bill
Clinton.
C. coup d'état (dâ-tä´) noun
The sudden overthrow of a government by a usually small
group of persons in or previously in positions of
authority.
Since AlGore will be sworn-in if Mr. Clinton is removed or
resigns this emotive is nonsense.
D. Since when did we decide whether or not an American is
guilty/innocent AND establish punishment/non-punishment
by poll?
