-Caveat Lector- NEW LIGHT SHED ON REHNQUIST'S ROBES =================================== (CNNS, 01/16/99) -- Thanks to researchers publishing on the Conspiracy Theory Research List ([EMAIL PROTECTED]), a mailing list furthering the efforts of conspiracy researchers, new light has been shed on the subject of Chief Justice William Rehnquist's gold striped-sleeve judicial robe. This news service had suggested, in a previous report, that Rehnquist's robe was a recent fashion, adopted for the impeachment trial of Bill Clinton. But according to information now received, Rehnquist first displayed his gold striped-sleeve judicial wear circa 1994. In 1994, according to, reportedly, a National Public Radio (NPR) broadcast, Rehnquist had been in attendance during a performance of the Gilbert & Sullivan operetta, "Iolanthe." Afterwards, "the Chief Justice had the gold-striped Lord Chancellor's robe copied." [Reportedly from NPR, 1/12/99.] According to one CTRL researcher, "Rehnquist's imperial robes initially caused a stir when he showed up in his stripes at Clinton's 1995 State of the Union Address, which was televised. There is also a Time article in the 2/6/95 issue which references Rehnquist's getup." Based upon this recent information, as well as other reports, it now appears that one presumed motivating force behind Bill Clinton's impeachment trial, the U.S. military, is less dominant. Rehnquist's gold stripes, implying a military trial, do not seem to have been tailor-made for Bill Clinton's impeachment. Other reports which indicate that the U.S. military is not pulling the strings of the impeachment trial involve the recent donative promised by Clinton to the U.S. armed forces. As noted in a previous CNNS press release, Caesars in the ancient Roman empire needed military support to stay in power, especially in the latter days of that empire. The Caesars routinely donated funds from the Roman treasury to their troops, to ensure their support. With recent promised increases in military spending, Caesar Clinton has quieted rumblings in military ranks. Caesar Clinton has also recently promised more money to police, so that they can increase their presence. Therefore the police, arguably a military force, have also received a promised donative. Also recently receiving an increase in funds from the U.S. Treasury have been federal employees, who have had their salaries raised. All -- military, federal bureaucrats, and police -- have received a promised or actual donative and are therefore more likely to support Caesar Clinton. Nonetheless, CNNS source "Slim Bacall" (pseudonym) has told us that one of her sources indicates there has been an ongoing military interface with the current Clinton scandals. Her source claims that the "Desert Fox" attack on Iraq, which occurred on or about "Surreal Saturday," the day the U.S. House of Representatives voted articles of impeachment against Bill Clinton, was manipulated into happening on or about that day not by Bill Clinton, but by high-ranking military personnel. Their alleged purpose was to embarrass Clinton by having the Desert Fox attack coincide with the House impeachment vote. The level of the military's role as underminer of Clinton is uncertain, at this point. But information previously reported by CNNS, that a likely hidden motivator behind Bill Clinton's impeachment woes is traceable to the ongoing Netanyahu/Clinton feud, appears increasingly likely. The impeachment trial of Bill Clinton is concurrent with an imminent Israeli election, in which Clinton's non-friend Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, may be voted out of office. Clinton hatchet-man James Carville and his associates are actively working for Netanyahu's defeat. A covert operation meant, apparently, to counter the Clinton team, was launched recently. The office of Carville associate Stan Greenberg, in Washington DC, was burglarized and files related to the upcoming Israeli election were stolen. In a prior report from CNNS, we pointed to speculation that Monica Lewinsky is an Israeli "asset," and that the scandal involving her and Bill Clinton is part of a "sting" operation. A past report from EIRNS (Executive Intelligence Review News Service) bolsters the claim. In "What Was the Mossad Role in the Lewinsky Affair?", Edward Spannaus reports on information contained in special prosecutor Kenneth Starr's Report, wherein Bill Clinton expressed fears that a foreign embassy was tapping White House phone conversations. [EIRNS, 9/16/99.] Spannaus writes, in part, that "[r]eportedly, the embassy involved was that of Israel, under the control of the right-wing Likud government of Benjamin Netanyahu." Citing a report by British journalist Edward Dowling, Spannaus reinforces his claim that Israeli factions hostile to Clinton are involved in the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Dowling, according to Spannaus, "has released an article for publication to a variety of British and American news organizations, charging that the Israeli Mossad was bugging the Watergate apartment telephone of Monica Lewinsky, and was able to obtain material used to blackmail the Clinton administration into shutting down a probe of widespread Israeli espionage in Washington." [EIRNS, 9/16/99] Spannaus specifically links the Lewinsky scandal to Israel's Likud party, to which Netanyahu belongs. As usual, the interested American public continues to grope in the dark, seeking real information on these and other incidents.
