DEFENSE INDUSTRY NEEDS YOUR HELP!

(CNNS, 03/09/99) -- Pity the poor military-industrial complex.
Hey, they've got bills to pay, just like we all do!
For example, all those bombs being dumped on Iraq. Each of those
Tomahawk missiles costs $750,000. One day of "Desert Fox" cost
us even more than the notoriously expensive Ken Starr. Yet
strangely and mysteriously, those pundits who whine that "Ken
Starr has cost us $50 million" say NOTHING about the costs of
overseas U.S. military actions.
Like the "peace-keepers" in the former Yugoslavia, for instance.
Three years ago Bill Clinton sent U.S. troops to Bosnia, and
promised they'd be back home in 6 months. Bill Clinton broke
that promise so, *ipso facto*, Bill Clinton lied (again).
Now there's these people called "KLA" (Kosovo Liberation Army).
But what =is= a "KLA"? Hard to be sure, but they're maybe going
to cost us all more money.
Like the $20 billion already spent on the Bosnian
"peace-keepers," still in no-man's land after three years and
counting. (That $20 billion would purchase 400 Ken Starrs! Do
the math yourself: 20 billion divided by 50 million equals 400.)
As to KLA, an article in "New American" magazine says "KLA is a
terrorist criminal syndicate, Maoist in its ideological bent,
hard-wired into the international heroin trade, and tightly
allied with Osama bin Laden." ("Diving Into The Kosovo
Quagmire," by William Norman Grigg. New American magazine,
3/15/99.)
But Bill Clinton, or one of his facsimilies (how do we know Bill
Clinton is still alive), wants to send 4,000 U.S. troops into
Kosovo. Not mentioned is how much $$$ that's going to cost.
Meanwhile, reputed seer Gordon-Michael Scallion predicts that
World War III will soon erupt and will begin in Turkey, and
involve Italy and Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia.... as in "Bosnia,"
"Kosovo" ....
In a previous report, CNNS told of Scallion's prediction:
By about the year 2002, we will be able to look back and
distinguish that 1999 was the tenuous beginning of World
War III. This world war, says Scallion, will be a European
war and will not spread to the United States. It will
begin with Turkey, Yugoslavia, and Italy and will be
"basically a religious war, an attempt for global

How else is our money being wasted? Answer: for every dollar
sent to Central America for humanitarian assistance, due to
Hurricane Mitch, 90 cents gets stolen! Says one missionary in
the suffering region, "This is blasphemous." People starve, food
is stolen, and very little is said about it.
Another way our money is stolen is through "farm price supports."
The U.S. government pays for and stockpiles food, lest there be
deflation and "farmers" suffer from too-low prices for their
crops. But *cui bono*? One "farmer" who benefits tremendously
is named Archer Daniels Midland.
And on top of it all is the horrific $50 million spent on Ken
Starr's "independent" investigation of Bill Clinton. The mass
media tells us about that. But the same mass media is strangely
and mysteriously remiss about the other wastes, outlined above.
Where is Senator Proxmire, now that we need him?
And who shills for the military-industrial complex? Mass media
does their part, but the "heroic" Chris Ruddy out-does even them.
In the January 1999 issue of his "Vortex" newsletter, Ruddy goes
overboard about how China is about to nuke us and Russia is up to
her old evil tricks. Uh-oh. Better vote more $$$ for the U.S.
military-industrial complex, huh Chris?
