Leisure, Jr., who from 1957 to 1993 was a partner in the law firm of Donovan, Leisure, Newton & Irvine in Manhattan, died on Monday in Jacksonville, Fla. He was 78 and lived on Sea Island, Ga. He died of complications after a heart attack in a Jacksonville hospital, his family said. George Stanley Leisure Jr. was born in Manhattan. His father, George S. Leisure, was one of the founders of Donovan, Leisure. George Jr. graduated from the Choate School in Connecticut and received a bachelor's degree in 1948 from Yale and a law degree in 1951 from Harvard Law School. Mr. Leisure was in the Navy from 1943 to 1946 and again from 1951 to 1953, during the Korean War; he became a lieutenant and served on destroyers. He also worked for the Central Intelligence Agency in the early 1950's. >From 1954 to 1956, he was an assistant United States attorney for the Southern District of New York in the criminal division. In 1956 and 1957, he was a trial lawyer in the antitrust division of the Department of Justice in New York City. He was mainly a courtroom litigator. Most of his work was in corporate and antitrust law. Among his clients were American Cyanamid, Howard Hughes, General Electric and Westinghouse. He was also co-counsel to Gen. William C. Westmoreland in his libel lawsuit against CBS. Mr. Leisure is survived by his wife, Joan Casey Leisure, whom he married in 1949; a daughter, Constance Keeton Leisure of Litchfield, Conn.; three sons, Timothy, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Matthew C., of Manheim, Pa., and Dr. George S. III of Charlottesville, Va.; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Judge Peter K.
