-Caveat Lector-

I will be sending some excerpts from the book The Super Afrikaners -Wilkins
and Strydom which is an expose of the Broederbond.

Before sending i must give a (very) short history of SA in order to
contextualise the story. his is not complete but will give the jist and I
will mention a couple of the interesting ironies.

South Africa has always been inhabited. The Bushmen inhabited the area from
earliest times. the Bantu speakin people arrived in succeesive waves from
about 400-600AD inhabiting the eastern seaboard and the slowly expanding
from there. Many parts of southern africa (Botswana) were only occupied at
about the same time as the Afrikaners moved along the coast toward

The Dutch arrived in 1652 to set up a watering point for trade in the far
east and never intended colonising the country, but the farmers whom they
brought started seeking fresher pastures.
The Bushmen were pushed out by both Black and white through a process of
extermination and assimilation.
there fate in the cape was settled with the small pox outbreak of 1713 when
30% of the whites died and over 95% of the bushmen/hottentots dies( the
modern PC name is Khoisan, but since the word San means thieves and
murderers I avoid using it). The blacks were unaffected.

The whites moved out fromthe cape along the coast until they met the
Xhosa(the blacks) at fish river in about 1750/60.
A series of perpetual border wars began that never ceased until the xhosa
were conquered.

The dutch practised wide spread slavery and brought slaves from the
malaysian peninsula

The British arrived in about 1800 and conquerred the cape, because of the
expanding british trade with the east. The attitude to Afrikaner was mostly
negative and they tried to anglicise them...causing resentment.
The british also vacillated in the policy of the border wars, first
favouring one party then the other. This caused a second layer of
resentment. Then the brittish abolished slavery( and made it impossible for
the locals to obtain compensation)

The english arrived in large numbers in 1820 in the eastern cape.

At this time in the centre of the country a period of tribal genocide
occurred called the mfecane(the milling) in which the centre of the country
became depopulated. (Shaka Zulu was a major factor in this by way of
creating major disruption in Natal. It has been estimated by(non marxist)
historians that up to 1m people died during that period and effectively
depopulated the centre of the country- and caused the sotho to move into
lesotho and the matabele to move into Zimbabwe(via the great trek)

This , with the disatisfaction of the eastern cape afrikaner created the
opportunity for the great trek(from which you get the film title star trek)
which happened about 1835.

The scenes of tribal desolation and genocideplus an act of betrayal by the
zulus and an attempt at genocide set the the tone for race relations for the
next 150 yrs.

The British tried to maintain control by colonising Natal, but most
afrikaners refused to live under british rule and trekked back to the
transvaal. The british later decided to conquer the zulu kingdoms in the
about ?1850. This lead to the wiping out by the zulu's of a whole regiment
at Islandwana..followed by the face saving at Rourkes drift. The later
venture was made into a film with michael Caine called the Ipcress
file(sorry mk ultra has been getting to me and I keep seeing shape changing
fairies everywhere-there better looking than reptiloids)

The British started the arrangements for native areas which then at a later
time became the basis for apartheid. At the time the areas were
underpopulated ..thanks to shaka, so much so that when the mines started on
the rand, they suffered from a labour shortages and had to import chinese
coolies...who were shipped back to the last man. the white farmers also
could not get labour for sugar cane farms so they imported indian coolies,
which is how much later Ghandi ended up in South africa care of richard
attenborough.

Meanwhile the Afrikaners were setting up their republics. The blacks were
treated as a conquered people.(who has heard of david livingstone- he had a
lot of conflict with the afrikaners, but most of people now don't know who
he is so I wont tell why) but for most cases the tribal structures
remained. the afrikaner themselves remained a peasant people, a calvinistic
tribe in the centre of Brutal africa.

The Modern world arrives.

With the discovery of diamonds, firstly and then gold brought the moder
industrial age to the Afrikaner. it also brought british imperialism in the
name of Cecil John Rhodes, who with the jewish mining magnates conspired to
conquer the Transvaal republic in which the gold mines were situated. Th
resultig war(anglo boer war) brought the death of about 90 000
people(black, afrikaner and english) mostly by disease in concentration
camps. The effect on the Afrikaner was traumatic as in the transvaal it
resulted in the death of almost 20-30% of the Afrikaner women and children
in the transvaal. (but not the rest of the country). due to the scorched
earth policy and concentration camps(who needs gas chambers- starvation and
diseases is enough).
This lead also to the collapse of english liberalism outside of the cape and
laid the basis for apartheid which was meant as much to keep the english and
jews at a distance as the blacks(before then the afrikaner was very
philosemitic..Marx is a good afrikaans name in South africa and Karl marx's
sister emigrated to South Africa and married a major publisher).

The blacks in the cape had voting rights . The ANC is the oldest political
party in South Africa having been founded in 1912. Ironically in the late
20's they told their representative3s to vote for the nationalist party
---because they regarded the party as being more socialist than afrikaner
nationalist..

During the period 1904-1924, when Lord Milner wasn't setting up the
beginnings of the state of Israel and the Russian Revolution and running WW1
he was trying to anglicise the afrikaner. If you were afrikaans between
1910-1940 you were excluded from senior positions in the civil service,
business and virtually everywhere. If you spoke afrikaans at school you
could be made to sit in the corner with a sign around your neck that " I am
a donkey".
(Then from 1948 they did the same to the english and now from 1994 the
blacks are doing the same to the english and Afrikaners)

That brings us to the coming story of the broederbond. It literally
translates as the brotherhood. It rose in the years after the first world
war, during the time of maximum oppression and when the afrikaner was
struggling to maintain his identity. Although only consisted of about
12000men, it completely dominated the country.

It created and then dismantled apartheid, (and now is an insignificant
player.)

In reading that which will come, bear in mind a few things. Vorster was a
double agent(and a crook) and was playing a double game for smuts and Harry
Oppenheimer. The book was written by journalists that worked for Mr
Oppenheimers paper, the Sunday times and all the exposes of the broederbond
show that it had been completely infiltrated.
Mr FW Botha, mr Pik Botha were also members masons . The only PM since 1960
who actually fully believed in Apartheid was Verwoerd(and he was
assassinated by a "lone nut"). (If there is an interest I will write a short
note on the inevitability of the failure of apartheid and the mechanisms of
its destruction

Two things I will not recommend the series for everyone. Only for those who
have a particular interest in South African history, or those who want to
see a complete description of a how a secret power elite operates.
