No, it is a version that United Press International is now putting
forth...it 'proves' nothing, only that the disinformation campaign
continues....

One can make the decision to accept this version over other versions that
are being presented for public consumption...but it IS still just one
possible version, and may in fact be totally made up.

>What's more, we have received additional confirmation from residents of
>the Connecticut shore and Martha's Vineyard that visibility was
>EXCELLENT in the area at this time--from 10 to 12 miles at least.

I can't speak for Cape Cod, but while it wasn't foggy that night, it WAS
extremely hazy along most of the CT shoreline, and an ozone alert (ozone
causes haze) had been in effect since the day before....

One has to keep in mind that there is a vast difference between
visibility distance on a horizontal plane, and that which may be visible
on a vertical plane; e.g., when one hears the Weather Service saying
'visibility is 8 miles', they are usually referring to visibility at
ground level looking towards the horizon, and NOT the amount of
visibility a pilot would have looking down (usually greater visibility
in haze from that angle)...

>such conditions it's ludicrous to think the Kennedy would not been able
>to have seen at LEAST the GLOW from the many lights in the
>well-populated Martha's Vineyard area at the distance he was, and thus
>have been thoroughly able to distinguish direction in all senses of the
>word (altitude).

Even at 8 miles in haze, a GLOW of a populated area would be visible, and
indeed is probably why he took the CT/RI shoreline route (if indeed he
did), since that is an extremely populated area, and I-95 especially
would have made an easy landmark to follow east....he may not have been
able to make out land details, but the lights would have definitely been
visible, and indeed haze would have magnified the glow, changing
streetlights from pinpoints of light to a glowing ball...

>Here is the pertinent text from about halfway through the UPI article.
>This is the TRUTH... BEFORE the spin-doctors and manipulators got to work.

Since when does the UPI become the epitome of 'truth'...?

No, one has to keep in mind that this version could be as much a lie as
any other version being fed to the public.

>+ACI-At 9:39 p.m. Friday, Kennedy radioed the airport and said he was 13
>miles from the airport and 10 miles from the coast, according to
>WCVB-TV news in Boston. He reportedly said he was making his final approach.

IF this is true, it creates the troublesome problem of why the Vineyard
airport didn't raise an alert shortly after 10pm when Kennedy failed to
arrive...and especially why the Vineyard airport seems to not have let
authorities know about the contact for at least 12 hours, so that the
first 12 hours of the search included all of Long Island Sound and the
Atlantic south of Long Island westwards back to NJ, because authorities
were saying all Saturday morning and well into Sat. afternoon that they
had NO IDEA WHERE TO LOOK...

Why didn't the Vineyard airport let the searchers know about the supposed
contact with Kennedy at 9:39pm Friday night, so the searchers could have
concentrated their search in the Vineyard vacinity?

No, we are left with two troubling scenarios: either they are now LYING
about this radio contact, and they indeed never were in contact with
Kennedy; or they deliberately sat on this information for over 12 hours
and allowed the searchers to waste time looking in areas the Vineyard
airport personnel KNEW would not yield results -- IOW, 'someone' seems to
have wanted to deliberately divert the early search and rescue attempt
AWAY from the Vineyard...

>+ACI-Moments later, radar operated by the Federal Aviation Administration
>showed the plane went into a dive and dropped 1,200 feet in just 12
>seconds, according to ABC News.

And yet throughout most of last Saturday, when we were being told no one
had any idea where the plane went down, we were being told Kennedy's
flight path wasn't even known, since he was not required to file a flight
plan and that due to the small size of the plane, NO RADAR TRACKING WAS
DONE....

Last Saturday, it was really pushed onto the public the fact that there
were NO radar sightings of the craft, given as an explanation as to why
the search parties didn't know where to focus their search efforts.

But then suddenly on Sunday, after the initial flotsam and jetsam washed
up on Vineyard shores, radar 'evidence' magically materialized....

>Other CRUCIAL information which has now been removed from all official
>accounts is the fact that a NUMBER of witnesses on the beach at Martha's
>Vineyard that evening INCLUDING a Vineyard Gazette reporter saw an
>AIRBORNE explosion at this same time right in that area of the sky where
>Kennedy was flying. I quote here the relevant text from the UPI article.

This article contains NO FACTS, just 3rd hand hearsay....not only are we
NOT given the name of this mysterious reporter, we don't even hear about
this supposed report from a supposed reporter from WCVB...we read UPI's
assertion that WCVB reported that some unnamed person purporting to work
for the Vineyard Gazette saw something which is described as a 'big white
flash'...

One would think a reporter worth their salt would be all over the media,
willingly having their name reported and published...yet we never get
this person's name...

This bit of what to me is blatant disinformation didn't surface until
late Sunday, early Monday...while the EARLIEST eyewitness report from
Saturday morning is completely opposite this later version...and the FACT
remains that the earliest eyewitness report is the only one where the
eyewitness is named, and the report of this eyewitness' account was given
in at least TWO major media outlets, MSNBC and the New York Times...

>A report from about 3 PM on Saturday by Shephard Smith of FOX-TV named
>another one of these witnesses--in fact a guest at the scheduled wedding
>JFK. Jr. was due to attend AND a friend of Smith's producer at Fox.

Strange that they didn't come forward on Saturday morning to give the
searchers a clue as to where to look...and a little suspicious that this
supposed witness 'just happens' to be a friend of the news producer at
FOX-TV, who seems to be the first one to push this version a few hours
after MSNBC had reported on the eyewitness who definitely did NOT see any
flash...

And in all the versions I've heard of this, again the eyewitness to the
supposed flash is never identified, other than described as a 'friend of
the family who was a guest at the wedding'...no name is ever given.

Until someone is ready to have their name attached to these supposed
eyewitness accounts, they remain worthless...what we read and hear is
solely hearsay, and would be inadmissable in a court of law. Only the
eyewitness who HAS come forward and allowed himself to be publicly
identified can be given any validity...of course, he may be lying, or he
may have misinterpreted what he saw, but because he's been willing to
have his name associated with his story, his is the only account that
would be allowed as evidence in a court of law, since it is a firsthand
account.

All other accounts from unnamed 'witnesses' are just garbage.

>I rest my case. JFK Jr. WAS KILLED.

Perhaps. But one does a disservice to the quest for the REAL truth,
when one just mindlessly accepts one media version over another...when
CRITICALLY analyzed, the 'flash of light' story doesn't hold up...it only
surfaced fairly late, after an eyewitness report that specifically stated
that there was NO explosion had already been reported on MSNBC...and
absolutely NO supposed eyewitness to the supposed flash of light has ever
been named...

Until someone is willing to come forward and state that they saw this
flash with their own eyes, and allow their name to be given, then this
account of a supposed flash of light is just unsubstantiated rumor, and
is probably being disseminated as part of a greater disinformation
campaign.

> Among those present were Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., former
>U.S. Rep. Joseph Kennedy, Rory's older brother and JFK Jr.'s cousin, and
>U.S. Housing Secretary Andrew Cuomo, who is married to Kerry Kennedy.
> John Kennedy's older sister, Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, was away
>on a rafting trip and had not planned to attend the wedding.

Has anyone delved into THIS little tidbit? Seems mighty strange that a
major member of the supposedly close-knit Kennedy clan would chose NOT to
attend her cousin's wedding...

And by so doing, conveniently was NOT in the same area as her brother...

> Sen. Kennedy's son, Rep. Patrick Kennedy, D-R.I., was also away in
>California and immediately flew back to Boston, according to media
>reports.

And strangely yet another major member of the supposedly close-knit clan
chose not to attend his cousin's wedding...

> Kennedy's family then called Hyannis Airport - around 2:15 a.m.,
>reports say - when he failed to arrive. The airport then checked with
>the Martha's Vineyard airport, and the search began.

But why didn't Martha's Vineyard raise the alert shortly after 10pm when
it was obvious Kennedy was missing?

> Kurt Hartman, spokesman for the U.S. Coast Guard's district
>headquarters in New Haven, Conn., said this morning, +ACI-We received a
>call from our district office in Boston directing us to conduct a
>shoreline search off Horton Point, in Long Island Sound, for an
>emergency locating transmitting beacon.+ACI-
> But by 10:30 a.m., the Coast Guard was no longer receiving a signal
>from the emergency beacon that was believed to be on Kennedy's small
>plane.

One must ask why this story seems to have disappeared from official
versions of what happened.

Remember, we woke up last Saturday to the story that Kennedy was missing,
and that NO TRACES OF HIS FLIGHT PATH EXISTED...but the only clue was
this beacon, which the local New Haven stations were indicating was close
to Mattituck, Long Island...which is approximately the midpoint of Long
Island, on the north shore...

The Martha's Vineyard airport was mysteriously silent at this point
regarding their supposed conversation with Kennedy shortly before he was
due to land, and so much of the search and rescue attempts at that early
stage concentrated well west of the Vineyard, based on this early beacon
signal...

Also, it would have made more sense for Kennedy to have followed LONG
ISLAND west, since LI is well populated (e.g., well lit) and has at least
2 major highways he could have used as landmarks to use as guides to keep
him on an easterly course...

His reported direction upon taking off from New Jersey would have had him
reaching Long Island well east of NYC....so one has to wonder why he
supposedly decided to continue north to CT before heading east, when LI
could have provided just as good a guidemark to follow as the CT/RI
shoreline....

But if he DID continue north to CT, then the Mattituck area could well
have been the area he flew over as he left Long Island, based on his
reported heading on leaving NJ....

So...IF this beacon WAS from Kennedy's plane, what could THAT possibly
mean? It would imply that he was in trouble well before he reached Cape
Cod, and indeed that he probably never even REACHED Massachusetts...or
that the beacon was planted to deliberately lead the searchers astray....

> Jamie Gaspar, spokesman for Martha's Vineyard Airport, told UPI that
>+ACI-someone was at the airport to pick up the passengers on the plane, but
>it never arrived.+ACI-

This little tidbit makes the fact that no alert was raised AT THAT TIME
even more suspicious...because now we not only have the airport
personnel's judgement in question, but someone who was either a friend or
family member...and IF the airport HAD been in contact with Kennedy
shortly after 9:30, and then he didn't arrive, it would seem to me they
would have told the person waiting for them "Gee, we don't know what
happened, we talked to him at about 9:40 when he told us he was a few
miles out and due to land in a few minutes, but then he never showed..."

No, the actions of the airport AND this friend/family member (yet
another nameless person) gives all the indications of the airport indeed
never having been in contact with the aircraft...this supposed
conversation the airport had with Kennedy is another story that only
surfaced late in the game...

> Kennedy did not file a flight plan, leading some to first suspect he
>altered his route.

How can one 'alter' a route that isn't filed? Stating that he 'altered'
his route implies that his route was known, else how can he have deviated
from it?

> The Air Force and Air National Guard mounted a massive air search
>using helicopters, Falcon jets and a TC-130 aircraft over a 1,000-
>square-mile search area that eventually concentrated on Martha's
>Vineyard.

Where were the airport personnel who supposedly talked to Kennedy at 9:39
the night before? Where was the person who waited for them at the
airport? Where was the supposed reporter for the Village Gazette who
supposedly saw the 'flash in the sky'? Where were all the other supposed
witnesses to this flash?

Why didn't ANY of these people come forward Saturday morning and let the
searchers know about what they'd experienced, so that the search wouldn't
have to encompass one-thousand square miles, and instead they could have
concentrated on the Vineyard from the beginning...

Perhaps because there never WAS an airport conversation with Kennedy, and
no 'flash of light'...or else ALL of these people deliberately allowed
the searchers to waste efforts in a 1000 square mile search instead of
being able to concentrate their efforts on the Vineyard from the
beginning...and just perhaps maybe being able to reach the aircraft when
at least one of the victims could have been alive....

No, as much as we dance around this issue, it still comes down to the
fact that the searchers were deliberately led astray in the first 12
hours of the search...

Or perhaps it took 12 hours to set up what they were meant to find in the
Vineyard vacinity...
